Action Plan Finalized to Accelerate Development Activities at Cheruvadi CHC
OP Hours to Be Extended Until 4 PM in the First Phase
Kodiyathoor: An action plan has been finalized under the leadership of C.K. Kasim MLA to accelerate the development activities of Cheruvadi Community Health Centre (CHC) in Kodiyathoor Grama Panchayat. As the first step, the meeting decided to extend the hospital’s OP working hours from the existing 2 PM to 4 PM.
Cheruvadi CHC is a major healthcare centre serving patients from Kodiyathoor, Chathamangalam and Karassery grama panchayats, as well as patients from Keezhupuram Panchayat in Malappuram district. The hospital is located in an area where a large number of ordinary families, including Scheduled Caste families and those below the poverty line, reside.
The government hospital, functioning under Kunnamangalam Block Panchayat, was upgraded from a Primary Health Centre to a Community Health Centre several years ago. However, the lack of adequate infrastructure and sufficient staff in line with its upgraded status has been causing difficulties for patients.
To address these issues and ensure the comprehensive development of the hospital, the newly constituted Hospital Management Committee held a meeting and prepared an action plan. It was decided to implement development activities in phases based on the master plan prepared with the assistance of expert engineers from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, under the leadership of the previous Block Panchayat administration.
As the first phase, the OP working hours of the hospital will be extended until 4 PM. C.K. Kasim MLA also informed the meeting that funds would be allocated from his Asset Development Fund for a vehicle required for the hospital.
The meeting, held at the Community Health Centre Conference Hall, was inaugurated by C.K. Kasim MLA. Kunnamangalam Block Panchayat President C.K. Faseela presided over the meeting.
Kodiyathoor Grama Panchayat President T. Kavitha Teacher, Block Panchayat Vice President Vinod Padanilam, Standing Committee Chairpersons Babitha Vinod and Dhanya Babaraj, Block Panchayat Member Majeed Moolath, Grama Panchayat Members K.V. Niyas and S.A. Nasser, Medical Officer Dr. Maya T., NHM DPM Dr. Afsal C.K., NHM District PRO Binoy, NHM AE Brenish, and engineers Mithun Raj and Anu spoke at the meeting.
Hospital Management Committee members K.V. Abdurahman, Ashraf Kolakkadan, Moin Bappu, Aziz Kunnath, Abdu Pannikode, P.K. Faisal, Moosa Haji, Junaid Kunnath, and others also attended the meeting.
